The autumn is for many people significant to the best of times during the year on Öland. There are fewer tourists and more birds. The migrant passes for the birds are amazing and to ”wave” bye, bye to the migratory birds at the South Point of Öland is a magical happening. The autumn is long and mild on Öland. You can experience Indian summer well into October and November also often offers lovely days.
The autumn is also harvest season. The range of locally grown agricultural products are large and available. Often there are beats in every colour, potatoe and pumpkins displayed om old milk stools and you help yourself with everything you want and then swish your payment to the cropper. Everything culminates during the harvest fate/fiest at the end of september, when Öland is again full of guests. Trough both days and nights everything is open. Galleries, restaurants and a street life we here in Sweden seldom have the oppurtunity to experience.
