The autumn is for many people the best time during the year on Öland. There are fewer tourists and more birds. The migrating birds passing by are amazing to Watch and to wave goodbye at the South Point of Öland is a magical happening. The autumn is long and mild on Öland. You can experience summer well into October and November also often offers lovely days.
The autumn is also harvest season. The range of locally grown agricultural products are large and accessible. Often there are beats in every colour, potatoes and pumpkins displayed on old milk stools and you help yourself to everything you want from the farmers. Everything culminates during the harvest fiest at the end of september, when Öland is again full of visitors from all over the country. Through both days and nights everything is open. Galleries, restaurants and a street life we here in Sweden seldom have the oppurtunity to experience.
